A Conversation with DEDOS

OMG: What was your inspiration behind the pieces in this exhibit?

DEDOS: Traditional Mexican folk art and animals (some endangered) that currently live along the Northwest coast . Growing up as the son of immigrants from South America and my partner who is of Mexican descent, we decorate our narrative with the blend of the cultures that we are a part of by being here.

OMG: Can you describe your creative process or technique and how you approached making these pieces?

DEDOS: I find certain skulls of animals that I resonate with, side profiles or straight facing, then I incorporate certain design patterns that I get inspiration from Central America. These are all done digitally , the designs on the skulls may be done on paper first then translated to digital.

OMG: What are your plans for future artistic projects or exhibitions?

DEDOS: I plan to expand on this series in more galleries and also explore web 3 by creating NFTS so that this series can forever be imprinted in the world.

OMG: Where else can we find your artwork?

DEDOS: My works can be seen on the streets of Vancouver and Edmonton, in various galleries, at pop up shows, and in web 3 NFT spaces where I am currently making more of a presence.
